Dine LA 2016: Connie & Ted’s

Connie and Teds in LA

As a foodie, DineLA is prime time to be able to go try out new fun restaurants, as special menus are offered. While most “set menus” for special occasions like NYE and Valentine’s Day are over-priced and over-hyped, DineLA menus are actually meant to help you explore a restaurant’s menu at a reasonable price.

Of course the key here is to find a great restaurant you want to try with a menu that sounds delicious and the price sounds perfect. As a bargain-hunter, I live for this stuff. This past weekend, my husband and I ventured to try Connie & Ted’s, which is a seafood restaurant in West Hollywood. The reviews are great, but their regular prices can seem a little high (it is fresh seafood of course). I was pretty ecstatic that it was participating in DineLA.

They had a great selection for their lunch menu for $29,as well as their dinner menu for $39. While my hubby and I both got Micheladas, the menu also came with a free drink so I also ordered an arnold palmer, which was light and fresh. You had an option to pick two choices and a dessert; I got the chowder sampler (New England clam chowder, Manhattan clam chowder and Rhode Island clear clam chowder), tuna melt with fries and whoopie pie for dessert. My husband opted for 1/2 dozen oysters, cod sandwich with cole slaw and a whoppie pie for dessert. While that sounds pretty simple, it was all so delicious. Everything had such great flavor and the serving sizes were so generous. We loved everything we tried.

My husband raved about the food, which made me happy because that means we’ll be back!

TIPS: Make reservations in advance, as the place is quite popular and filled up rather quickly. There’s parking a long the street, but it’s WeHo, so parking can be a pain, we opted to valet which was $5. Food is great, drinks are so-so. Stick to the food.

This looks freaking amazing. The prices weren’t too bad either! Do you have an all time favorite place for oysters/seafood?
