How to Style an Inexpensive Bar Cart

Bar carts are perfect for entertaining and when styled correctly, they can easily accentuate a room in a home. I had been on the hunt for a cute, inexpensive, compact bar cart for a while and when I came across this Target marble bar cart, I knew I had to purchase it. Especially because it was on sale, although when I bought it, it was $60, however it went down to as low as $38 online (!). We have a small nook in the dining area where it fit perfectly.

Saving money on a bar cart is key, but so is saving money on accessories. I was gifted the cute coasters, bought the swirly straws from Target ($3-$4) and bought fun napkins ($2 on clearance) and gold picks ($6) from HomeGoods. The rest of my bar cart accessories, we’ve had for a few years, but had bought from IKEA and Target. Aside from Target & IKEA, I recommend checking out TJ Maxx, Ross, HomeGoods, Goodwill or even Hobby Lobby for discounts on accessories. Be sure to stock up your bar cart with the below bar tools, which are the most essential:

  • Shaker
  • Ice bucket
  • Straws
  • Napkins
  • Coasters
  • Glasses

When decorating, keeping things simple is key. An overcrowded bar cart looks messy. Let the alcohol bottles be part of the décor – it’s the main vocal point of the bar cart any way.  Adding fun colorful pieces are great, such as an interesting print, books or fresh flowers which can easily help fill the bar cart with a fun flare.

Happy Drinking!
