This past Sunday I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the Illumination Foundation’s OC Chef’s Table event at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel.
The event featured Orange County’s top chefs making five course meals along table landscapes that represented the personality of each Chef’s restaurant. The proceeds from the event benefited the Illumination Foundation which works to end homelessness in Orange County.
I was so honored to be invited, it turned my mundane lazy Sunday into a quite an occasion. It was “cocktail/black-tie” attire which was right up my alley. I bought this LBD back in January on-sale at Francesca’s that I hadn’t worn, so it was the perfect time to break it out.
It was a great opportunity to learn about the Illumination Foundation and what they’re doing for the community. The event began with a fun cocktail reception which featured some delectable appetizers and delicious cocktails and wine. They had a memorable Chardonnay and Lemon Drop martini that hit the spot.
I had the honor of having a private tour of the ballroom to view the table decorations and a chance to meet and talk to the Chef’s. I loved all the intricate details of the tables, the perfectly designed menu selections and having the chance to speak to the esteemed chefs themselves.
It was such a great opportunity to not only meet some of OC’s talented chef’s but learn about great community efforts in Orange County. Best part? Mickey & Minnie were there! I had heard Kurt Russell was in attendance, but honestly I was all about Mickey.
If you ever have the opportunity to attend, go! You won’t regret it, it’s such a great event for a meaningful cause.
