While fashion shows have been in full swing from NY to Europe, they have finally hit LA. I had the privilege to be invited to a few fashion shows through the Los Angeles Fashion Council for LA’s Fashion Week and had a ball. There were so many talented designers, I really wish I would have been able to view all the shows, but due to a busy schedule I manged to catch the below three shows on Wednesday.
Michael Ngo – My favorite show by far. Inspired by the underground vogue scene, the clothes were seductive, electric and bold. They represented empowerment with a touch of attitude. I loved it and the vogue dance sequence at the end of the show? Priceless. The whole room burst in to an applause.
Vilorija – The “Pret a Voyage”(Ready to Travel) show had a classic Parisian twist. Ladylike skirts and dresses with simple fabrics and prints. The clothes were girly and practical. Loved the berets!
Linden – The “Stage Ready” presentation of Jennifer Lynn’s collection was really intriguing. Two models changing outfits in front of an audience on a stage, a theatrical concept that was executed very well. The clothes were sleek and minimalistic.
Aside from all the wonderful fashion, complimentary drinks were provided along with some tasty samples from M Cafe. And they also had the Glam Squad on-hand to provide mini-makeovers to attendees. It was so much fun, I cannot wait until next year!
