Temecula is such a fun little place to explore. Lots of little shops, restaurants and wineries, it’s easy to see its appeal. On one of my last trips, I had a chance to eat at the Public House. I had previously heard really great things about it, so I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype.
One of the first things you notice about the Public House is its fun atmosphere. True to its name it looks like a large house that was converted into a restaurant. Except the house is the kitchen and the seating is all in the back patio. When you walk up to the side of the restaurant, the hostess walks you thru a backyard door to outdoor seating. The atmosphere is open and lively. It’s the perfect place to mingle.
The food options are inventive, fresh, delicious and incredibly filling. Everyone at my party loved what they ordered. Even our cocktails were on-point, they offer options from local breweries and wineries, which is a nice touch; it’s no surprise their reviews on Yelp are hard to beat.
Tips: Be prepared to wait. They don’t take reservations, so call ahead to get a wait time. There’s tons to do in the are, so waiting isn’t a big deal. Portions are hefty, so go hungry. Great place for groups, but not for romantic dates, as it gets pretty loud.
Parking: There’s lots of street parking and a few free parking lots all within walking distance.
Have you been to Temecula? Have any restaurant recommendations? Would love to hear!
